All necessary amenities can be found in Albuñol to include supermarkets, municipal market selling meat fish, fruit and vegetables and twice monthly market. There is also a chemist, doctors, dentist, schools, hairdressers,banks, a good selection of shops and numerous tapas bars and restaurants where you can sample the local produce.

On November the 1st there is a wine and tapas festival and horse fair which is one of the biggest in Spain.

The larger towns of Adra, with a more comprehensive selection of shops can be reached in ten minutes and Motril in twenty minutes. Almeria is only a fifty minute drive away.

The nearest airports are Almeria, Granada, and Malaga which can be reached in 50 minutes, 60 minutes, and 90 minutes respectively.
